WAID and WID Database Comparison

This interactive dashboard enables a comparison between the Water Accident and Incident Database (WAID), the UK's official database for the annual reporting of drowning fatalities in the UK, and The Water Incident Research Hub (WIRH), the qualitative database for fatal and non-fatal drownings in the UK.
To enable our data to remain comparable with the WAID, we ensure that the database is continually benchmarked to ensure samples remain representative of UK national drowning fatality statistics.
